“Selling the Shadow” is a group exhibition hosted by Pochron Studios and curated by the Brooklyn Art Collective featuring six emerging artists who explore the concessions and demands they encounter daily to survive the working world in order to realize their artistic potential and personal goals. The original works, including sculpture, painting, and photography, explore the notion that young contemporary artists often support that which forms the fodder of their inner consciousness by selling their talents for a lesser cause in hopes to one day accomplish a greater good and see their lofty aspirations realized. The exhibition opens at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at The Pochron Studio Gallery on the 11th Floor of 20 Jay St. in D.U.M.B.O. After Party with drink specials at ReBar at Front and Jay with Rocket Surgery, Like Vultures, and Ninjasonik. Code-D and Rev. McFly spinning tunes. to the wee hours.
