Andrew Sloan

Over the past decade, Andrew Sloan's pop graphic paintings and illustrations have appeared on a wide variety of surfaces and media. From outdoor murals and res­taurant walls, to cars and clothes, Sloan has developed a distinctive style in­corporating vivid colors and bold lines.

With a background in creative strategy and packaging design and a degree in Anthropology, his influences include cartoons, maps, graffiti, corporate logos, pop art, typography, youth and street culture and popular music. Working much of the time on canvas, Sloan also utilizes recycled doors, projection screens, plastic table tops, shutters and found construction materials. Commercially, Sloan's images and hand drawn type have been used for restaurant signage, CD covers and band backdrops, event flyers, T-shirts and advertising.

Mind's Eye Studio & Gallery // Jen Silver

Mind’s Eye Studio & Gallery showcases the work of San Francisco Bay Area Artist Jen Silver.

Jen started college at age 15 in her native state of Indiana. At 17 she transferred to Cornell University where she studied both marketing and sociology, fascinated by the many means of and reasons for human communication. Jen personally views art as one of the purest forms of communication and has trained across multiple artistic medium. In 2005 her works were exhibited and sold through websites, art shows and galleries based in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and the Greater Bay Area. Her artwork is a part of multiple private collections and is also available to auction for select charitable causes. In 2006 Jen will be expanding her exhibits internationally to Paris Berlin and Pune, India in addition to continuing U.S. exhibits in San Francisco, Chicago, and Dallas.

Jen's work has been positively received by gallery owners, art critics and collectors and the general public. She has been included in educational curriculum at high school and college levels. Jen's work explores many social, emotional and political subjects, but the common theme is exploring the “mind’s eye,” or the use of language to conjure fully constructed works of art from memories, desires, feelings, or images. Through deceptively simple and powerfully suggestive text messages she stimulates vivid inner images, smells, emotions and sounds unique to each individual. In various works she explores the effect of color and font in psycho-suggestion, pokes fun at media messages, examines differing learning styles, analyzes archetypical images and questions stereotypes all while taking the viewer for a trip down memory lane. Patrick Stauffer

Patrick Stauffer is a 24 year old sculptor who grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania, and attended Gettysburg College, where he majored in Visual Arts. Since leaving college in 2006, Patrick moved to Philadelphia where he hopes to begin and pursue a career in art. He has been passionate about art since a very young age; it is his form of expression. He has been deeply moved by the work of the Cubists, Impressionists, and Expressionists, which has led him to develop his abstract style. Patrick seeks to represent the potentials of the materials and bring them to life. Each has its own set of characteristics that he manipulates. He seeks to discover the beauty and intrigue that lies just beneath the surface. Patrick does not strive to make a social statement or tell a deep narrative, but simply constructs a visually interesting sculpture. His work is rarely titled, because he does not want to define it for the viewer. Instead, Patrick prefers that the sculpture be uniquely significant to each spectator, and that each viewer find their own meaning in his work. patrickstauffer@hotmail.com

Queenie

Queenie is dedicated to the vision of spreading delight through her artwork. “The joy in my life continually motivates me to find and create new patterns,” she says. “In my gallery, ‘Love Made Visible,’ each canvas has a story to tell, each piece is uniquely created in my studio with a synthesis of imagination and reality. When you encounter my art, I hope it helps you feel life on some of its highest and lowest levels. I try to maintain a sense of humor and allow you, the viewer, into my most intimate thoughts and life experiences.”
